Strategy and Planning for Preparation
Tip 1# - Join Mock Test Series :-
Hitesh joined couple of test series in the month of May and gave all his mocks very diligently. Taking mocks and analysing them is the most part of CAT preparation.
Tip 2# - Use Commuting productively
Hitesh being a working professional, he used to start his day 6.30 a.m in the morning and return home by 7.00 p.m. He used to spend 2-3 hours as his commuting time. While he is travelling, he used to read newspaper, novels or referring to online material which was available for preparation.

Tip 3#- Study hard on Weekends

After returning home Hitesh could hardly devote 1-2 hours in weekdays. So to make-up the weekdays preparation he used to slog around 5-6 hours in the weekends.

Resources used for preparation
Hitesh joined Alpha Numeric classes in April 2014. As he was working, he decided to join the classes only on weekends.
- Alpha Numeric classes were suggested by his seniors for the experiences his they had.
- Hitesh claims that joining Alpha Numeric classes was one of his best decision he had taken.
- The quality and quantity of the questions which were discussed in the classes was considered to be one of the unmatched class as compared to the other institutes.
- Alpha Numeric classes also provides you with lots of flexibility. As Hitesh was working, so used to skip lots of classes during weekends. Here you get the flexibility to attend the same classes through the online programme which are going on during the weekdays and also to get set of recorded videos. So that it ensures that you don’t miss any of the classes.
- There were a couple of Boost Camp which were organised in the month of August & October.
- Both the Boost Camp were of 10 days with regular 12hour of classes.
- After the completion of Boost Camp it will ensure a big amount of difference in the performance.
- For Quant section, questions discussed in the class was more than enough. For eg:- In Geometry and number systems more than 500 questions were discussed in the class itself.
- And for some other topics if the student felt the need to practice more, then there was an online site provided by Alpha Numeric where one could practice as many questions as they want.
- For DI & LR, Hitesh practiced questions that were discussed in the classes. Additionally they practice for 2-3 hours per day during the 20 days Boost Camp session.
- Several resources available online to practice for DI & LR
- Giving time based section test, it will help to improve speed and accuracy.
IIM interview Experience
- It was a 12 minutes short & stress interview.
- IIM-C is famous for asking questions on Mathematics
- Hitesh was completely surprised when he was asked questions on vectors and invertibility of functions followed by that he was asked questions on Indian Geography, primarily on Indian Rivers – Directions of the flow, from where they originate and where they end.
- At the end Hitesh was given a logical problem – “ How will he calculate the height of Mount Everest”

- Practice as much as you can
- Attend Mock test at designated Mock Centres
